This task was about making insects out of resources from nature. My dragonfly insect art was a challenging task because I had trouble keeping the objects still. Overall it was a very fun task. From doing this task I was able to use my imagination.
I am a Year 7 student at Edmund Hillary School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 9 and my teacher is Roya. This is a place where I will share my learning. Please note that some of it will not be complete, it will be my first draft. Remember to be positive, thoughtful and helpful when you leave me a comment.

Ka mau te wehi! Your naturally made insect is lovely. What is it that you used for the tail? It does the job perfectly!
It was a cool activity aye? I thought so anyway.
Keep on blogging e kōtiro, see you in the comments!

DeleteBula Vinaka Benjamin, thank you for commenting on my blog. Your positive feedback will definitely help in my upcoming post. The flower I used for my dragonflies tail was called bush lupine that had fallen on the ground and lost its color.

Hi Ruqayat! My name is Mia from Yaldhurst Model School, I am a participant of the Summer Learning Journey as well. Wow! Amazing work, I loved the way that you added in so many textures in your insect, it makes it look super cool.
ReplyDeleteI had the same problem too when I was trying to make my insect. Especially since I was trying to balance a thin stalk on top of a twig! I thoroughly enjoyed making my bug, it's called the Yama bug, Yama meaning 'mountain' in Japanese. What is the name of your dragonfly?
To improve, maybe you could add in some more information about your insect, the name, maybe even where it lives!
Great work!
Mia

DeleteHello Mia! thank you for your amazing reply. I really appreciate it and will make sure to use you tips in my next post. I actually did not name my dragonfly. So I decided to name it evil Needle Nicole. Your feedback will most certainly help to improve my upcoming blog post.

ReplyDeleteMīharo, amazing! Your dragonfly is awesome. I once made a dragonfly out of old plastic bottles and had the same problem - even with glue it was hard to keep the pieces in place! Have you ever seen a dragonfly in real life?
Kia ora Roya! thank you for the wonderful comment. I really do appreciate it. Your feedback will surly help my future work. And no, I have never seen a dragonfly in real life. I have only seen it in movies, videos and pictures.
