Haiku Poem ( SLJ )

For this activity we had to make a haiku poem. A haiku poem is a poem that contains 17 syllables in total. 5 syllables on the first line. 7 on the  second line. And lastly 5 on the third on. My one was based on a windy day. What theme would you do for your haiku poem?

  1. Kia ora Ruqayat,

My name is Zana and I am a blog commenter from the Summer Learning Journey.

I really enjoyed this haiku activity as I love to read poetry and I think haikus are a very fun form of poetry with their syllable rules and simplicity.

Your haiku is well written, you followed the 5, 7, 5 syllable rule perfectly and I think your theme is very lovely. I like that the colors and image you used matched the theme of your haiku and added more depth.

If you wanted to step up your work you could write a few more haikus and include a video of yourself reading them aloud.

Keep up the great work and I hope to see more of your posts over the summer.

    Ngā mihi nui,
    Zana Yates

    Kind regards ~

    1. Hi Ruqayat,

I like to write haiku poems about what I can see like whats outside my window, what my friend is doing etc. Like taking a picture of the moment but in the form of a poem.
