I am a Year 7 student at Edmund Hillary School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 9 and my teacher is Roya. This is a place where I will share my learning. Please note that some of it will not be complete, it will be my first draft. Remember to be positive, thoughtful and helpful when you leave me a comment.
For this task we needed to find 4 symmetry shapes in nature. These are the shapes I have selected. It was a very easy and time consuming task. Happy Holidays!
Thanks for putting up another post to check out. Sounds like you breezed through this one. Have you already learnt symmetry at school?
I noticed you used a lot of inorganic objects to find symmetry. I think that makes it simpler to find the lines of symmetry because human made objects often follow shapes and patterns that we can understand. Looking at plants and animals and seeing the symmetry in them is fascinating though I think. For example some flower patterns demonstrate symmetry as well as other beautiful patterns and forms.
Do you think you’ll do the step it up part for this activity?
Tena koe Benjamin. Thank you for taking the time to comment on my blog. It is much appreciated. Yes I learnt symmetry on the second to last week of school ( week 8 ). I also agree that non human objects also demonstrate symmetry. But, I couldn't find any. We just has our grass cut so all the flowers are gone. And yes I will do the step it up activity. Happy Holidays!
